Not all sports massages are created equal

Pah, I woke up again this morning with a very tight and painful Achilles tendon which made me hobble as I made my mad dash upstairs to the loo (the bladder isn’t as patient now as it was when I was younger). Anyway, as I was sitting, rotating it, rubbing it gently to get some mobility in there and contemplating the need for a sports massage on it, my mind began to flick over the various experiences I had had in my pursuit of an injury free body.

Those of you out there that have experienced a full blown sports massage will know, they are NOT a pleasant experience and I have often questioned the parentage of the therapist as they dig their elbows into my already painful areas.
